As Merleau-Ponty observed, "I can grasp myself only as 'already born' or 'still living', it is mostly because I know of life only as of being with others, communicating with others, connecting with others"
And if we should be shunned, rejected and ignored by all Others, what would constitute my identity then? We risk invisibility and an absurd emptiness of contingent existence; to be an empty shell pressed to an ear. The photo is of a Queen St. basker outside MacDonalds. He plays his guitar there every weekend, raising money for a holiday to Reunion Island, a French colony in the Indian Ocean. E-410, 1/3, f4, ISO 400. |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on.
